Michael Pacheco: Of Angels, Demons & Chopped Chorizo

Michael-M-Pachecoangels-demonsToday I had the pleasure of chatting with local author-former Marine-soon to be retired attorney, Michael Pacheco. He is the author of Of Angels, Demons and Chopped Chorizo: A Collection of Cuentos.

Born in the Chihuahuan desert of northern Mexico, Michael’s family moved up to the Pacific northwest when he was a child. He remained and established roots here, graduating from Kennewick High School and receiving his BA from Gonzaga University and his JD from Willamette University.

A former Marine, he has served as a prosecutor, parole board member, and assistant attorney general for the State of Oregon. Michael recently retired in his work as a legal assistant at a Salem law firm and now dedicates his time to writing.

Michael joined me for a live interview at our KBOO studio! We talked about his upbringing and how that influenced his career choices and how the tales his grandparents told feed his writing. This interview was featured on the membership drive episode of the literary program “Between the Covers” on KBOO Community Radio. Check out the podcast!
