Leroy Moore: Black Kripple Delivers Poetry & Lyrics
Leroy Moore is a superstar disability justice activist and hip hop artist from the SF Bay Area and also, was a guest on the inaugural episode of Intersections Radio! Since then, he’s published a memoir in the form of poetry and lyrics – and it’s been making waves! So when I had a spontaneous trip to the Bay, of course we had to meet up in person and geek out further.
We met up at the Golden Lotus restaurant in downtown Oakland to talk about his book, Black Kripple Delivers Poetry & Lyrics, the #BlackLivesMatter movement and how nonprofits and grant efforts actually hinder activism.
This interview was featured on the February 22, 2016 episode of Intersections Radio, which is now an independent podcast that airs on XRAY.FM. Check out Leroy’s book and check out his collaborative album on police brutality while you’re at it! He’s also hosting events in various parts of the country, so keep an eye out!
And of course, check out the podcast!
Air date: 2/22/2016
