Anupama Jain: How to be South Asian in America

How to be South Asian in AmericaAnupama Jain, professor of English at the University of Pittsburgh, recently published her debut book, “How to be South Asian in America: Narratives of Ambivalence and Belonging.” In this work, she examines the fine line that second generation communities face between being “American enough” and “South Asian enough”. In addition, she examines race, the Guyanese Indian community as a welcomed immigrant group in New York, and of course the latest wave of South Asian American independent films and literature. Her book was published by Temple University Press.

I interviewed her for APA Compass on KBOO 90.7 FM in Portland, OR.
